
Summertime Activities
Through music, art, and history, your child will be introduced to the maritime world in a fun and engaging way. All programs are subject to NC state taxes, 10% Family Membership and above discount applies. Registration closes the day prior at 5pm!
Little Mariners: 2 – 3pm, ages 4 – 6 with guardian, $7
- May 22: Maritime Art
Paint by numbers along with the educator to create your very own Maritime Masterpiece! While they dry, learn about the Little Heron with BIG dreams! - June 5: Longleaf Pine NEW
Learn about a tree native to Lower Cape Fear and what they produce. Smell samples of these products. Read a story and create art with pine needles and cones. Take home your very own longleaf pine sapling! - June 19: Light up my Day NEW
Students will make crafts and play games while learning about the lighthouses of North Carolina. They will sing a song to remember their importance. - July 3: Patriotic Pals
Class will start with a song about all our wonderful underwater friends, learn about what they eat, read a story, play some games, and make a jellyfish to take home! - July 17: Waterfront Walk
Take your child and a bucket to explore the Southport waterfront. Learn about what items you collect, then paint your seashells to take home! - August 7: Sea Songs
What do you do with a scurvy pirate? Well, you make him pick 100 oranges and sing along with Pirate Pierre. Little mariners learn about sea shanties, read a book and do some arts and crafts. - August 21: Transportation NEW
One boat, two boat, red boat, blue boat. So many to choose from! Learn about the different boats you see along our waters and what their jobs are. Build your very own model sailboat to take home!
