The public will take notice that the Southport Planning Board will meet on Thursday,
November 16, 2017, at 6:00 P.M. at the Fire Substation, located at 111 E. Nash Street
for the purpose of holding their monthly meeting as well as a special workshop to gain
additional public feedback on:
Zoning Text Amendment
A Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendment that would add an additional Article
dedicated to Tree Preservation. The purpose of the new Article is to safeguard and enhance
property values and to protect public and private investment through the maintenance and
protection of significant trees as well as to prevent the indiscriminate removal of tree and
ensure mitigation when trees are necessarily removed.
Interested developers, builders, contractors, and citizens are encouraged to attend.

The voting location for SOUTHPORT 1 precinct is no longer at the Southport Jaycees Building but is now at the Brunswick Center, 1513 N. Howe Street, Suite 1, Southport, NC  28461


The voting location for SOUTHPORT 2 precinct is no longer at the Longshoreman’s Association Building but now is at the Brunswick Community College Southport Center, 705 North Lord Street, Southport, NC 28461.


The Southport Rate Review Committee will meet Wednesday, November 29, 4:00 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall, 1029 N. Howe Street to discuss various matters relating to city facilities.

Interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
