The public will take notice that the Southport Board of Aldermen will meet on Thursday,
February 8, 2018, at 6:00 P.M. at the Southport Community Building, located at 223 E. Bay
Street for the purpose of holding a public hearing on:

Zoning Text Amendment
Elimination of PRD 50 Foot Setback
(ZA-17-1109-01)
A Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendment that would add a note to the Table of Area
Yard and Density concerning PRD Setbacks prior to the adoption of the UDO.  This amendment
would render the PRD 50 foot setback in the Ridge and Southport Way to no longer be in
effect.

Zoning Text Amendment
Tree Preservation
(ZA-17-0809-01)
A Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendment that would add an additional Article to the
UDO dedicated to Tree Preservation. The purpose of the new Article is to safeguard and
enhance property values and to protect public and private investment through the maintenance
and protection of significant trees as well as to prevent the indiscriminate removal of these trees
and to ensure mitigation when trees are necessarily removed.
