1- The public will take notice that the City of Southport has scheduled a public hearing to
consider a text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance. Specifically, the
amendment will be to Article 21: Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance in order to
comply with minimum criteria of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and to
make changes recommended by the State’s Emergency Mangement Risk Management
section.  A copy of the proposed text amendment is available on our website or at City Hall.

2- The public will take notice that the City of Southport has scheduled a public hearing to
adopt new flood maps issued by FEMA to comply with the minimum criteria of the
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  A representation of the proposed flood data and
maps can be viewed digitally at http://fris.nc.gov/fris/ or at City Hall.

The public hearing will be held on May 10, 2018, at the Southport Community Building, located at 223 E. Bay Street.

The Board will consider all discussions during the
public hearing. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.
