City Parks

The following is a listing of parks and other facilities that may be utilized for private use through the Parks & Recreation Department. For rental information and reservations of Facilities please contact Maureen Moore at (910) 457-7945. For rental information and reservations of Parks please contact Heather Hemphill at (910) 457-7810.

Parks & Recreation Facility Rental Agreement

Alvin C. Caviness Park

This 3/4 acre park contains 1/2 basketball court, children’s playground equipment and stage. Located on the corner of Clarendon & Owens.

Franklin Square Park

This 1 acre park’s main attraction would be its large gazebo and stage mainly used for plays and concerts.  Located on the corner of N. Howe Street and West Street.

Keziah Park

Best known for its 800-year-old Indian Trail Tree, this 1/2 acre park also has a gazebo and is located on the corner of W. Moore & Lord Streets.

Kingsley Street Park

Kingsley is a passive park with a dock extending out into the Intracoastal waterway with views of the Cape Fear River and islands.  Located on the corner of Kingsley and East Bay Streets.

Waterfront Park

Waterfront park overlooks the Cape Fear River and is equipped with a public fishing pier, sheltered picnic tables, water fountains, lights, and walkways. Located on Bay Street between Howe and Davis Streets.

Little League Complex

Under construction for baseball practice fields.

Lowe-White Memorial Park

Lowe-White Park is our largest and most varied city park. It has 2 tennis courts, 1/2 basketball court, restrooms, hiking trails, playground equipment and plenty of room for picnics and other gatherings.  Located on East Leonard Street.

Jaycee Building

This is one of our most popular rental buildings for luncheons, meetings, family gatherings and more. It is spacious with a full kitchen, tables, and chairs for custom configuration and plenty of parking.  309 N. Fodale Ave.

Bring a blanket or a chair and come sit under the majestic live oak trees, while enjoying the sounds of Blues, Country, Easy Listening, Jazz, Motown, Pop, R&B / Soul, Reggae, Rock and more! Concerts will be from 6-8 pm, every Thursday, June 1 – August 31, 2017 in Franklin Square Park. Rained out concerts will be held on the following Sunday.

AGES: KINDERGARTEN – 4th GRADE

$50 PER WEEK OR $150.00 A MONTH

CAMPERS WILL RECEIVE ONE CAMP TEE SHIRT TO WEAR ON TEACHER WORK DAYS AND TRIPS.

BEFORE SCHOOL 6:30am – 8:15am

AFTER SCHOOL 3:30pm – 5:45pm
