Local Black History will be on display throughout the weekend.
Donations for all programs will gratefully be accepted.

An evening with the distinguished motivational speaker, author, actress, and storyteller.

Lecture Series, Saturday, February 10, 2018
Attend a day of lectures, including highlights of Black women and the impact they have had in our community. Stay for all the lectures, or come for one.

12 – 1 p.m. – Stories from the United States Colored Troops, Donnie Joyner
1:15 – 2:15 p.m. – Black Politicians Post-Civil War, Donnie Joyner
2:30 – 3:30 p.m. – African American Education Pre-1925, Musette Steck
3:45 – 4:45 p.m. – The Griffin Family, The Griffin family is the first known black family to purchase property in old Southport.
5 – 7 p.m. – African American Women in the Military, Tina Bryant,
Retired 1st Sergeant, US Army with 22 years service

Old Time Gospel Fest, Sunday, February 11, 2018, 3:00 p.m.
Enjoy music from several local churches. Proceeds from the Gospel Fest will benefit The John N. Smith Cemetery.
