Aldermen will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, 5:00 p.m. at Fire
Headquarters, 1011 N. Howe Street, 2nd Floor Emergency Operations Center.
Interested citizens are encouraged to attend.

Duke Energy has received information that an emergency warning siren sounded in the emergency planning zone surrounding Brunswick Nuclear Plant, specifically Caswell Beach.

The Brunswick Nuclear Plant is operating safely. There is no emergency at the plant.

As a reminder, if you hear sirens and are not sure if it is a test or emergency, tune to a local radio or television station in your area.

PROPOSED OPERATING BUDGET FY 2018-2019

The proposed 2018-2019 operating budget for the City of Southport has been presented to the Board of Aldermen and will be available for public inspection at City Hall, 1029 N. Howe Street from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. weekdays. A copy of the budget will be available at the James & Margaret Harper Library located at 109 West Moore Street.
